Proposed Renovations

of JWC Kitchen and Social Hall

At the most recent Administrative Council meeting, the Trustees Committee submitted the following proposal for renovations to the John Wesley Center kitchen and social hall. While this does not require a formal Church Conference, the Administrative Council felt that, in the best interest of transparency and cooperation, it was wise to seek feedback from our congregation on this matter.

This feedback window will be open through Monday, May 17. You can respond by 1) placing a printed form in one of the offering boxes on Sunday OR 2) returning a printed form to the church office OR 3) submitting your response using the form here on our website.

Scope of the proposed project

Estimated Cost of the project: $75,000

Estimate Includes:

  • Kitchen renovation with a mixture of commercial and residential appliances
    •  Commercial sink, commercial fridge/freezer, commercial ice maker
    •  2 residential stove/ovens
    •  Stainless prep tables and pot hangers will replace all cabinets
  •  New paint throughout the social hall. (Paint existing paneling)
    •  2 coats on walls, trim and ceiling tiles
  •  New flooring throughout the social hall
  •  Bathroom upgrades (New fixtures, cabinets, lighting and partitions)
  •  Concrete ramp and awning over side door

PLEASE NOTE: This is an estimate only. The volatility in the market for both labor and materials could certainly impact these numbers. The availability of labor and materials is a concern. Once approved, it could still be quite some time before this project begins.
